Anyone who reads this mail, kindly relay to the Myanmar base Alumni the news as I cannot reach them on email.

The good news is,
The Yangon group will arrive on the 7th. January and a coach is arranged at the Bangkok Suwanabhum International Airport , to depart at 1400 to Pattaya.

Another coach is also leaving at the same time from the same airport to Pattaya on 7th. and the International arriving 20 guests have registered to take this coach. And the head count will increase.

The fare is Baht 600.00 per person one way.

On the 8th. some who were enjoying the goodies of Bangkok will ride a mini van from Arnoma Hotel to Pattaya. But if Bangkok staying guests increases 8th. transport will become a coach to Pattaya, leaving Arnoma Hotel about 1200 hours on Friday 8th.

The fare is Baht 600.00 per head one way.

On 10th. We will have one or two coaches to take back guest to Bangkok Hotel.

Anyone going to Pattaya on your own, do so during day time. And use Official Limousine

By having a huge crowd since 7th. at Pattaya, breakfast will be noisy for three mornings.
Since 7th. make use of your time to have prime time with everyone, paint the town.
8th. another whole day to loaf around and have fun.
9th. , The best of the best for every one.

Three days of a world class High School major event, a memory for a life time.

At this stage there are 122 alumni plus 55 guests. We need 80 in the next month to get the target of the last 2008 reunion.

But I doubt it will be just over 200. Not 250. I can't expect too much as many are getting old to travel long distance.

The gifts are paid for 200 guests and if more is coming, you have to register early.Then only I will have time to order more.

If you want to buy as gifts for your friends and Alumni who cannot come, please make orders now. Some one will carry it back for you. It's US$18.00 per gift of a Banjarong tea cup and saucer.

Things to remember.
We will accept gift packs which you will place into a large carton box with your name. Class and Country on it. So bring one if you like to in the morning session.

The Committee will make lucky dips of the gifts you contribute in the evening session. And the person who gets the lucky dip gift can look for the contributor to say thanks and get a new friend for your next 20 years.

Some of the gifts will be auctioned for the MEHS Memorial Foundation fund.

Please bring some small change like Baht 50 or Baht 100 currency notes to tip for a floor show, Photo shoot. Giving tips is a good thing. 20-30 Baht, a worker can have a good meal. We all are well off group of people.

Last Reunion, a couple asked me,if it is suitable to take a taxi from the airport to Bangkok Hotel in the night after midnight. They asked because the spouse carried valuable to wear on Reunion night. I adviced them, it is better to hang around for a few hours at the airport until day break and take a public taxi to play safe.

Another way is take official AOT Airport Organisation of Thailand Limousine after 2200 hours , unless you are a frequent visitor to any country including Thailand.

In my next email I will make some photo shots to give you directions at the arrival hall after passing Customs.

Last but not least, please pay in your registration fee by latest mid December 2009. And book Hotels, coach transport, tours by latest mid December also. Then only I can pay the Hotel etc.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or my Operations Manager, Ms April (Alias) "Moe Yay" (Her Thai Name Namfon means rain water). Born in the month of April, I gave her an english name April. (Any one related with MEHS will need an english name,right?)

Since you’ve mentioned you can get a discount for us in January, How much would the rooms cost for our reunion? Per person or per room?

The A-One Hotel could not discount anymore than that given on the MEHSA website. It's Double or Single occupancy, the discounted rate is Baht 2900.00 including Buffet Breakfast per NEW WING ROOM.

One person only or two person, the rate is same Baht 2900.00 per night including Buffet Breakfast.

Another Alumni checked on the Hotel Website and found the rate was higher by booking direct.

Would you recommend taking a taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya?

Public Taxi also takes you to Pattaya. But you may have to use a public Taxi that stands in front of Bangkok Hotels, which are likely to take you there. The ones cruising on the streets may not take you as some drivers do not know directions and many drive on shifts.

I have not asked a Bangkok Public taxi the fixed fare to Pattaya. But the Taxi stands in Pattaya which will arrange a public taxi back to Bangkok or Airport, charges Baht 800.00 plus tollway gate fee (about Baht 130 the most) to Bangkok or Bangkok Airport is what I knew last Friday when I went to Pattaya. So, both ways,should be about Baht 800.00 plus toll way gate fees.

But I will not suggest taking a Public taxi at night to and from Pattaya. Wait until daybreak to travel by public taxi.
